Constellation of Gratitude
All members of the Gladwyne Montessori community—past and present—are invited to join artist and Gladwyne Montessori alumnus Brian Fernandes-Halloran in creating a Constellation of Gratitude.
Participants will be guided through the process of creating "shapes of thanks" that will then be compiled by Brian into an abstract sculpture that will be installed in a permanent location at Gladwyne Montessori!
Step 1: Make your "Shape of Gratitude"
If you were unable to join one of our live art making sessions, simple watch the video above and make your own shape of gratitude.
Supplies You'll Need:
- Paper, pencil, and scissors.
- Material that you can draw on and cut out. I like to re-purpose (up-cycle) packaging. Cardboard or even a cleaned "to-go" container can be perfect for this. Look for some colors and patterns that speak to you and begin a tiny collection if you want options.
- An idea of something, someone, some place, some-whatever for which you are very thankful.
Step 2: Share your "Shape of Thanks"
Once you have created your "shape of thanks" we encourage you to create a video showing your art and sharing what inspired your creation.
Post your video on social media using #GladwyneMontessori and #ShapeofThanks.
Step 3: Join our Constellation of Gratitude Sculpture
We would love to include your "shape of thanks" in our Constellation of Gratitude sculpture, which will be installed at Gladwyne Montessori.
Drop off your completed "shape of thanks" at Gladwyne Montessori between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday - Friday at Gladwyne Montessori before May 22 (in the box at the front door) or mail your "shape of thanks" to:
