Maggie Brown Dougherty Endowed Scholarship

This spring, two of Gladwyne Montessori’s beloved teachers, Maggie Brown Dougherty and Diane Vreugdenhil, will retire.

Collectively, these women have dedicated an incredible 67 years to of service to the service of our children and their families; Maggie is concluding her 38th year as a teacher in our Primary program and Diane is concluding her 29th serving in various roles, including 17 years as an assistant teacher for our toddler program.

More than 100 members of the Gladwyne Montessori community gathered on Sunday, April 22nd for a Retirement Luncheon to celebrate Maggie and Diane. During this program, Carrie Kries announced the establishment of the Maggie Brown Dougherty Endowed Scholarship, which will have an impact on our students and school for years to come.

With the help everyone who participated, we met a $10,000 challenge, bringing the total raised for this scholarship so far to $20,360!
