Project Phases

Phase 1A: 10-12 weeks (began Oct. 2019)

Introduce a grass playing field where children can run free, engage in a game of kickball, or simply observe the clouds.
Plant a small orchard and install a greenhouse, where children will observe plant life cycles while tending and harvesting fruits and vegetables.
Create a nature trail, where children will learn about native plants, trees, insects, and birds.
Begin work on a new faculty and administrative house, a beautiful, nature-rich meeting environment for our teachers and community.

Phase 1B: 10-12 Weeks

Establish pollinator and native plant gardens where children will study biodiversity.
Expand our makerspace, creating a flexible learning space where old-world trades and handicrafts to live in synergy with modern technology and design.
Create a welcoming entryway to the Rachel Eve Savett Elementary Building and an innovative "think space" for our students.

Phase 2: 10-12 Weeks

Begin installing new, dynamic playgrounds that encourage playful and positive unstructured social interactions.
Create a hardscape play area where children can play ball, create chalk art, or meet in small groups.
Address our parking needs, enabling our community to gather with new ease for classroom and school events.
Dedicate meaningful reflection spaces that tell the story of Gladwyne Montessori.
