“Education is a natural process carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words, but by experiences in the environment.”

Coronavirus Updates

Dear Gladwyne Montessori Family,

Managing COVID-19 is an unprecedented challenge for all of us. We are grateful for our community's partnership and collaboration as we navigate through it.

On Thursday, March 12, 2020, Governor Tom Wolfe issued a mandate for all public and private schools in Montgomery County to close for a period of two weeks, beginning on Friday, March 13.

Gladwyne Montessori's teachers have been hard at work proactively preparing meaningful distance lessons and activities. Distance learning will commence on Monday, March 14 and will continue through Thursday, March 19. On Friday, March 20, spring break will begin. At this time, we hope to resume school as usual on Monday, March 30. If anything changes, you can expect to hear from me.

In abundance of caution, we are also planning for events and gatherings scheduled to take place in the coming weeks and months. Where possible, events will be shifted to a virtual format or moved to the fall. Other events will, unfortunately, need to be cancelled.

I sincerely value your partnership as we navigate through this challenging time.
