Coronavirus Updates

Dear Gladwyne Montessori Community,

On April 9, Governor Wolf announced that all schools—public, private, and parochial—are to remain closed through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. In response to all of the challenges that this mandate and overall health and financial uncertainties continue to create, Gladwyne Montessori's Board of Trustees has established a COVID-19 Task Force. This group will focus on ensuring that COVID-19-related issues are addressed in a programmatic way and that all stakeholders of the Gladwyne Montessori community can move forward most productively.

I know how challenging and, in many ways, upsetting this extraordinary period of time is and I am most grateful to you, our parent community, for your dedication, support, and commitment to our school. If your student or family is experiencing significant educational and/or financial hardships as a direct result of COVID-19, please fill out this form so that we can direct your concern to the person or people who will be able to best support you.

We are committed to doing everything within our power to serve you and your children in a way that allows for continued growth, development, joy, and connection to our special community. Over the course of the coming days and weeks, we will continue refining our Distance Learning Program, while seeking out new ways to create and strengthen connections, every step of the way.

Please reach out to me at any point to talk through your questions and general feedback. Gwen Shangle, our Director of Montessori, is also available as a resource for academic questions, and Dr. Elaine Edlind, our school Psychologist, is available for conversations with you and/or your children, if you would like to talk.

As mentioned, we will continue to provide an array of interesting and interactive activities for your families as well as opportunities for us to come together as a community. Please browse our list of webinars weekly to register for a variety of activities offered by members of our amazing faculty daily!

I appreciate and value your partnership during this challenging time.

Warmly,

Carrie
