Gwen brings 25 years of experience to Gladwyne from teaching in Montessori classrooms, mentoring teachers, guiding families, working on curriculum and program designs, and directing a teacher training center. She was drawn to the dynamic and positive culture and community of Gladwyne Montessori as well as the stimulating and dedicated faculty. Gwen enjoys presenting to parents and teachers and sharing her passion of Montessori as a way of life. Gwen also has raised a "Montessori child", now in college, and is excited to dedicate her empty nest time to Gladwyne's community. In her free time, Gwen enjoys the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with her pets and family, as well as volunteering for arts groups. Gwen also serves on the Board of the Deep Time Journey Network, which promotes the principles of cosmic education, a key aspect of Montessori education.
Michael has served Gladwyne Montessori since 1997, providing vision and leadership through numerous property acquisitions, leadership transitions, and program evolutions. For nine years, he served as Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools and currently serves on the board of directors of Philadelphia Area Independent School Business Officers Association. Michael is both a CPA and licensed psychologist and has experience in public accounting, municipal finance, clinical psychology, and teaching at the masters and doctorate level. Gladwyne Montessori is a supportive and caring community and Michael believes the school's mission and values align well with his own. In his spare time, Michael enjoys playing football, softball, basketball, bodyboarding, snowboarding, and traveling.
Anne Marie was very excited to join the amazing team of dedicated administrators and educators at Gladwyne Montessori. Being both a mother and grandmother, Anne Marie knows how important early education is to create independent, creative, and confident students and strongly believes in the Gladwyne Montessori mission. Anne Marie enjoys spending her free time with her children and grandchildren, as well as spending time reading, relaxing at the beach, kayaking, hiking and being outdoors.
Ahsiya has been connected to Gladwyne Montessori since her younger siblings attended. She joined the Advancement team in 2012, just in time to help celebrate Gladwyne Montessori's 50th Anniversary. Since then, Ahsiya has enjoyed working with parents and alumni to advance the mission of Gladwyne Montessori through philanthropy and community building. Now the parent of a Gladwyne Montessori Alumnus and a current Gladwyne Montessori student, Ahsiya enjoys life with her two children and all of the adventures they bring. She is also a humble learner in the field of Anti-Bias and Anti-Racist Education, and enjoys being the secretary of Gladwyne Montessori's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
Rachel joined Gladwyne Montessori after working in newsroom editing and most recently for an environmental consulting firm. As she was a teaching assistant in high school for a first grade class and a tutor throughout college - present, Rachel always considered pursuing education and teaching as her career, instead of journalism. Now at Gladwyne, she gets to put her design, editing, writing, and communication skills to good use, while still getting the chance to interact with students and become involved in the community! In her free time, Rachel enjoys hiking with her dog, painting and writing, getting crafty, exploring new places, as well as spending time with friends and family.
While his 13 years of experience in a corporate environment provided Dan with a diverse background, the rewards he sought after could not be found in that industry. He believes making a daily impact can occur in the right environment, and Gladwyne Montessori has allowed him that very opportunity, while learning new trades and continuing to grow. Dan spends his free time with his wife, Kelly and their children Becca, Erin, and Scott. You will probably find them camping, fishing, or boating if they're not at home planning their next outdoor adventure.
