It all started when one day a girl about the age of 7 was going to school. Her bus came up and she got in. She sat beside her friend Grace. Grace had honey skin, her hair was brown, and her eyes were hazel. Jane was wearing a brown skirt, a brown top, and black shoes. She looked great.
The bus stopped and she got out she walked to the door of the school and opened the door and walked inside. Jane had a feeling something was up.
She started for her classroom; she went to her desk and sat down. When the first lesson was over she raised her hand. “Yes Jane,” said the teacher Miss Brook “I would like to go to the bathroom,” said Jane. You may’ said Miss Brook. In the classroom Grace had to go too, she told the teacher and the teacher said yes and Grace was off. She soon caught up with Jane and they opened the door to the bathroom stepped inside and the door shut. It soon disappeared. They were in a circled room with nothing but doors. They didn’t know what to do so they chose a door that was red with roses on it; they opened it and stepped into a beautiful land.
In the north there was a snowy wonder world. The snow drifted down and it was pretty chilly. In the east was a land that smelled like peppermints. They could not bear smelling it. In the west was a big land only the Scribbles lived there. The Scribbles were big balls of scribbles and they could stretch as far as their scribbled arms. The scribbles only had one half of the land. A purple palace was on the other side, and in it lived Princess Cat. She had no mother or father so she ruled the castle on her own. Now Princess Cat was a spoiled brat and she always got what she wanted.
Well now lets get back looking at the whole country.
In the south the people loved books and music. Jane and Grace could not believe their eyes. Jane and Grace didn’t know what to do, so they stated walking to the half that the scribbles lived on. What would the scribbles think? Would they like them? So they walked toward the gate and there were two guards on either side. The guards said to the two girls, “Who are you and which planet do you come from?” The girls said their names and said that they come from a planet called Earth.
The guards had never heard of a planet called Earth. One of the guards wrote a note to Princess Cat asking if the girls could come in. The guard did not go and give it to Princess Cat all he did was hold it tightly and stretched his hand so far that it reached the Purple Castle. The castle was all the way on the other side so the guard really had to stretch. The princess replied and said the girls could pass. The girls passed and asked everyone they saw if they knew how to get out of Zuzz. (Zuzz was the planet’s name.) Nobody had ever been out of Zuzz.
The sun went down and it was getting late. The girls wondered if their mothers missed them? Well, the girls had to find somewhere to sleep soon. The girls found a big black cave. They found some yarn and knitting needles and began to knit. The girls finished at midnight. They had made two blankets and two pillows. The cave was covered with moss so the girls could sleep peacefully and wouldn’t feel a thing. When the girls woke up they had a lot of yarn so they started to knit. They knit pants and shirts to last them a while if they kept washing them. For the buttons on there pants the used big black seeds. The girls found sticks and rocks and made a fire.
The made a circle of rocks and put all the sticks in except for two. With those two they rubbed them together and sparks came out. They weaved little branches together and made a basket. They took really long sticks and hung the basket over. The problem was they didn’t have any food to put in. They came out of the cave and saw a chicken, goose, turkey, and a baby chick. They found a rock and hit all the birds except the chick. They took them all inside. Jane plucked the feathers and Grace put the meat in the basket. The chick became their pet. The girls took the basket from the fire and filled it with their blankets, pillows, chicken meat, chick, and a few chicken feathers. Grace saw some sticks and thought that they should bring some. They were very thick sticks but they put them in the basket.
They saw a very nice Scribble and asked for the last time if he could help them get out of Zuzz.
This time someone said yes! This Scribbles name was Oliver. He said we better take a map of Zuzz. We put the map back in their basket.
He told them that if they wanted to go somewhere the map would flip to that page. They said thank you and started off to the Purple Castle, for that was where the map told them to go. They told the guards they were from a different planet and needed only a place to stay for the night.
They were brought to a room. It was fantastic. The walls were all purple and the bed covers were all purple, except for the bedposts. There was a bed for each of them. In the middle of the room was a brown table with a purple bowl full of fruit. All fruits you could imagine. There was a big table on the side for meals. The girls stood with their mouths open for a couple of minutes. Then they closed them. The maid went out of the room and left the girls.
In a couple of minutes a waitress came in to take their order. Jane and Grace asked for Chinese food. The waitress brought up the food and they ate. It was the best food they ever ate. After it was all cleaned up they sat down and looked at the fruits. There was one that they didn’t know what it was. The maid said that if they ate it you could go were ever you wanted.
They packed some of the zubbs (that’s what the fruit was called) so they didn’t need to use the map, but they kept it anyway. They slept in the soft, comfy, beds for a night. In the morning they woke up and they both ate a zubb.
They thought and they thought about going to Peppermints. The map had told them to go there. In a blink of an eye they found themselves in a land that smelled so good that they could almost taste it. Then they saw a village made of peppermint. There was peppermint children running and jumping for joy. The adults were resting in there hammocks reading magazines. The sun was shining brightly and little kids swam in pools full of nice cold water. As soon as the girls got to the edge of the hill, to get a better look, they tumbled down the hill and straight into the village. Nobody noticed. The girls could not be heard over the noise.
A fancy peppermint lady named Jennifer came over and said in a lovely rosy voice, “Girls, I just came back from my trip to the Scribbles and they said two girls wanted to spend the night here.” “I have volunteered to give you a room.”
The girls thanked her and she showed them the way to her house. When they got to her house the girls were amazed. The house was so big it had forty-six windows. That was so surprising that they wondered what would amaze them next. When they got inside they didn’t see anything because Jennifer told them to close their eyes. She told them that they were now standing in their room so they could open their eyes. When they opened their eye’s they saw a small couch near a big open window. It had red roses on it. They saw red silk curtains on the large window. It also had red roses on it. There was a fireplace with a blazing fire in it. The beds were canopies with curtains around it. The curtains had flowers dancing on them. There was a big wardrobe full of the prettiest most elegant dresses. They were silk, velvet, and ones trimmed with lace. Jennifer had long white gloves in there too. She had got them from the Winter Wonderland.
There was a large table with gold place mats trimmed in lace. Red plates with gold flowers along the edges sat on the mats. And in the middle there was a vase of flowers. This was better then at the Purple Palace. Jennifer left them and they dressed in warm nightgowns and went to bed.
In the morning Jennifer’s maid brought up breakfast. They had pancakes and some cereal. For a drink they had orange juice. They put on some silk dresses. Jane wore a purple silk dress with a sash around her waist. Grace wore a red dress with a sash around her waist.
They had to go Winter Wonderland in the north. Jennifer gave them a splendid carriage with two horses that she did not use anymore. The horse’s names were Angel and Beauty. Angel was a brown chocolate horse. Beauty was a black horse. They took food for the horses and covers for them so they wouldn’t get cold. Time flew and they were there in only an hour. Jennifer had packed them some warm fur coats and gloves. She also packed them some earmuffs.
Grace and Jane stopped because they saw a big pit. They looked into the pit and saw a bunch of igloos. It was a town of them. The map told them to find a penguin named Peggy Penny. They walked bye a few igloos and then saw one that said Peggy Penny, the penguin
Grace and Jane knocked on a door made of ice and Peggy came to the door and said come in. Everything was ready.
The igloo was much warmer then outside. They both liked fish so they helped themselves to it. After they had eaten and drank lots they went to bed. Their beds were made of ice but were very comfy. Peggy had put a lot of moss she had found. It stunk like fish so they had to go pick some forget-me-not flowers to scatter on there beds. When they woke up in the morning Peggy was preparing breakfast. They were going to have fried fish. Grace thought it tasted like bacon. Grace and Jane didn’t want to go to the next place so quickly. Peggy had to go to school to teach. Today she was going to teach little birds how to slide on their stomachs. Peggy told them that whenever they wanted to leave they could. When Peggy left Grace and Jane went outside. They took the sticks they had brought in their basket and made fire. They didn’t want any fish and they were hungry, so they hung the chicken they still had on the fire.
Penguins gathered near to see this. Penguins don’t see fire very often. A couple of penguins wanted to try the chicken, so they gave a little to them. The penguins didn’t like it so the girls ate the rest of it.
Their map said they had to Music Town as soon as possible so they got in the carriage. The horses had their coats on so they wouldn’t get cold. The ride only took twenty minutes. When they got to there they saw a big sign that said “Music town.” There was a wall in the middle of this country. That sign was on the left side. On the right was a sign that said “Book City”
They headed toward Music Town first. Then as soon as they got there they saw a row of big points facing at them. There were two dragons at the sharp points. The dragons wouldn’t let anyone in. The only way in was if you could name the most popular music in music town. The dragons knew the girls had never been to music town so the dragons gave the girl some choices. The choices were rock and roll, jazz or classical. They thought for a while and then looked at the town. There was a big sign that said “rock and roll.” The girls turned back to talk to the dragons but they were fast a sleep. They whispered in there ears “rock and roll” the dragons muttered “yes, that is correct, you may pass.” The girl saw a lever and they pushed it down. The points split in half and went to the sides. The girls passed through and then a lady came up to them and said “hello.” Oh dear, I was wondering if you girls would like to help me in my shop. All the guitars are broken and I need someone to fix while I am busy helping customers. I will give instructions for them. If you do it I will give you a place to sleep” The girls agreed and they followed Amber to her shop. The shops name was “Rock On!” By the end of the day the girls fixed ten guitars, two pianos, six drums, and three violins. Amber showed them the way to her house. When they got there the house was very pleasant. It had vines growing in a nice order. The house was a nice cream color. The door was painted a dark red. There was a splendid garden growing. There were daffodils, roses, lilies, sunflowers, and lots more.
At the edge of the garden was a small little tree with it branches hanging low over the garden. It was a very pretty sight. Then they went inside. It was nice too. Their clothes were worn out so Amber gave them some nice lavender dresses. For dinner they had Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.
It was very good. After dinner they stayed up and watched a movie. They watched Matilda. After the movie they went too bed very tired after a long day. They fell asleep right a way.
When they woke up they saw a note on the breakfast table. It said “Dear girls, I have gone to get a very valuable thing.” “I will be back shortly.” sincerely, Amber.” Then as soon as they finished reading the note Amber came through the door. She was carrying a guitar. She said “girls, I wanted to give this to you. It will help you on your way. You said that you were going to Book City. In between Music Town and Book City there is a brick wall. If you went around it every single person in Book City will come after you for sure. How do you get over the brick wall? You have to play a note on a guitar. On the wall there will be a letter you have to play that note on the guitar for the wall to open. In Book City they are writing music books to. So as soon as the wall hears that note they’ll put that note in the book.” The girl thanked her very much and said they had to go now. The girls wanted to get there so quick that they thought of the zubbs. Jane and Grace ate the zubbs and wished they could go to the brick wall. In a blink of an eye they were there. On the wall was the letter C. The girls both took music so they knew which string to press. They did that and the doors opened. Then something caught the girl’s eyes. There was a big hotel perfect for the girls to spend the night. They walked in the hotel and checked in. They got room 59. When they walked into there room it was very plain. There were two normal beds, a desk, and a chair. Well that was what they always see in a hotel so what were they to expect. There was a dinning room so they went they down to have dinner. They were having a very early dinner but that didn’t matter. Jane ordered ribs and Grace ordered pasta. It was very good. When dinner was over they went to the arcade to play a bit. There was a ping-pong table and they played that for an hour. When they were done they wanted to get to bed as soon as possible so it would be morning sooner.
When they woke up the next day they saw a note lying on the desk. It said, “go to Ashley’s bookstore. I will meet you there at noon.” There was no name. At noon the girls bought a map and found the bookstore. On the floor of the bookstore was a sign that said “go to the back of the store.” The girls went to the back of the store and found Ashley the owner of the store. Next to her was another door.
Ashley said “this is the door that will lead you back to your planet, open it.” The girls took a big breath and opened the door then they stepped inside and the door shut behind them.
There was another door and they opened it and found themselves at school. They shut the door and looked at what it said and it said, “do not enter.” Jane thought someone had already been there and had put that sign up.
They went back in their own classroom. Not a minute had passed.
