I. Introduction/Welcome

   A. The meeting commenced with a welcome from Amanda Beeler, PTA President.

II. Committee Updates

    A. Community Service: Sophia Gold discussed that the Spring Clothing Drive will be April 16 through April 23rd. The flyer will explain what types of clothes/items will be accepted.

    B. Movie Night: Jamie Haines and Jen Turner will be running Movie Night again which will be held on April 11th at 6:30 PM (Elementary) and April 12th at 5:00 PM (Primary). There has been a good response so far. The committee has a better idea this year on how much food needs to be ordered.

    C. Sunshine Club: Lauren Kline and Michelle Barcus are working on the upcoming blood drive which will be Monday, April 14th. Please sign up to donate!

    D. Kids Art: Melissa Pennebaker is working on a spring fundraiser. Cards will be sent out next Wednesday for the children to design. Parents can purchase cards with their child’s artwork.

    E. Spring Fling: Danielle Gureghian is chairing Spring Fling this year. It will be April 30th. Rain date is May 1st. The next Spring Fling meeting is April 17th at 9 AM. A flyer is going to be sent out next week, including volunteer sign ups, bake sale and crafts. Also, the children will be able to make terrariums at Sprint Fling this year!

III. Plans for 2008-2009

    A. The PTA would like to hear your thoughts on a few new ideas: Please contact anyone on the PTA (by phone or email) if you have comments/ideas/thoughts on the below for the next school year:

       1. A house tour (maybe limit to a lunch kitchen tour);

       2. Movie nights twice a year (November or January and May);

       3. Dad/child event in May; and

       4. Adding more events that will foster camaraderie among classes/age groups along with class parents, such as gingerbread house making. More events also need to be planned for stepping stones parents (maybe on the days that they children are not in stepping stones). Cindy Cook suggested also making a scrap book from each year’s PTA events.
