So many people ask me, "Why Gladwyne Montessori?" It's a wonderful question - and one that I'd love to answer for you.
The Montessori approach to education is grounded in a child-centered model developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the late 1800s. We focus on the student as a whole person, encouraging him to learn at his own pace, using all five senses, in mixed-aged classrooms.
Our classes allow children to get to know one another on a deeper level. We use natural materials, like glass and wood, encouraging students to explore learning in an environment that is uniquely sized to their special world.
We offer outstanding academics - from advanced mathematics, life sciences and world cultures to language, literature, art and music. At the same time, we instill in our students a sense of self-reliance, independence, acceptance and responsibility...beginning at age 2 and continuing through age 12.
