New Mac Lab is Up and Running

Thanks to the generous donations of guests at our Four Seasons Gala auction in March, the more than $16,000 raised for our new computer lab has been put to good use. A dozen new Mac Book Pros were delivered to school in May and our 3rd Year Primary and Elementary students have been exploring programs like photo booth and iMovie working on graphic creations.

2010-2011 School Closings Calendar

We have updated our 2010-2011 School Closings Calendar. In August, you will be sent a more detailed phase-in schedule for Steppng Stones and Primary.

Pennies Collection Raises nearly $1000

It's amazing what dropping a few coins into a jar can do when everyone takes part! Our Primary and Elementary classrooms collected pennies (and other coins) this winter as part of a community service project to raise money for education programs in the Middle East operated by the organizations Pennies for Peace and The Rebuilding Afghanistan Foundation.

Older students read the book Three Cups of Tea by Pennies for Peace founder Greg Mortenson and Primary children read Listen to the Wind, Mortenson's picture book for children. Students came to understand that a simple penny is enough money to buy a pencil in countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan and that a pencil can open the door for education. In total, the Primary and Elementary coin collections raised $952 that will be donated to the two organizations.
