  Jackson's Graduation Speech

I’m so happy I’m speechless.

No, really, my dog ate it.

Now I know what you’re thinking, I stole that from my sister’s speech. Do you think I would do something like that???.....

Well, I didn’t. She said my frogs ate it.

OK, speech time… right… I guess I’ll just wing it.

I came to this school when I was two. At first I was normal… then I met Nick.

I remember we used to play with the train set a lot, but not the way you’d expect a two-year-old to. We zoomed them up the track and tried to get them to fly off, and then we’d see who could get them to go the farthest. I think that ended when some little kid got hit by a toy train and, for some unknown reason, they blamed us. Seriously… I had nothing to do with it.

Then when I was three, William came to this school. He was short, fast, and totally crazy. Not a good combination.

He was also friends with Michael Schwartz, and we became friends, too.

Then Evan came when I was four. William was friends with him, so we hung out and we became friends. Kinda.

When we went into Lower El, I met Henry and Josh, but they were in Mrs. Hartnett’s class along with Nick. But William, Michael, Evan, and I were all in Meg’s class, and we formed the Four Musketeers. Then we started having homework. My sister had told me lots of horror stories about it, but nothing could have prepared me for it. Somehow I lived, and when I look back, it seems like we only had a tiny bit.

All of Lower El kind of seemed like a blur. I just remember doing the timeline of life with William and Michael, and playing football with the Upper El.

I was so happy when I was in third grade and one of the oldest in the class. I could boss everyone around.

Then I went into Upper El and I was one of the youngest again. There I met Danny, Andrew, Jordan, Bianca, Jaslyn, Natalie, and Crystina, and I was happy because Nick, William, Evan, Josh, and I were all in the same class. It was completely crazy. Nick’s already told you about the fourth grade lunches. Yeah, he explained it pretty well.

Then there was Camp Onas. I was so excited to be staying for two nights, I couldn’t wait. When we got there, free time came first. Of course, we all ran over to the rope swing. When it was my turn, I forgot to stop before I hit a bush. I won’t go into the details, but it wasn’t pretty. I had to go home later that day.

When I was in fifth grade, Amity and Rachel came into our class. Amity was really hyper all the time, but so were all my friends and I.

It was down to William, Nick, Danny, Andrew, Amity, Jaslyn, Bianca, Jordan, Natalie, and me at our lunch table. Not exactly a small group, considering it was a five person table, but it was better than the twenty-four we had in fourth. In fifth grade the only thing I remember about Camp Onas is skipping rocks when we were supposed to be studying outdoor life.

Sixth grade went by really fast.

We went to Williamsburg and it was really fun. The whole time while we were walking around every three seconds we would say: HEY LOOK! A FIELD! CAN WE PLAY IN THE FIELD?!?!?!? We also went on a lot of tours. There was one three hour one and learned a lot.

Now, nearing the end of my speech, I’d like to thank all my teachers, Mrs. L., Toril, Mr. Nord, Mrs. Mehta, Mr. K., Coco, Mrs. Hunter, Meg, Lois, Laura, Madame Denise, Mrs. Susie, and Mrs. Johns for being the awesomest teachers ever, and all mi peeps, Nick, William, Amity, Natalie, Danny, Andrew, Jordan, Jaslyn, Bianca, Reeta, and Tiara for being crazystupidawesomewierdhilariouspossumlicious.

And now, for the grand finale, I’ll do a flip off the podium…what? I can’t do that?? Oh. Well then, I guess I’ll just leave.

PEACE OUT!!
